Psychiatric medication management and brand-name GLP-1 metabolic care — each available independently, or integrated when that is what works best for you. One provider. Dual board certification. Your whole picture.
"Psychiatric symptoms, metabolic health, sleep, and physical wellbeing rarely live in separate rooms — yet conventional healthcare treats them that way. I built this practice to change that."— Joanna Dixon, PMHNP-BC, ANP-BC
Mood, metabolism, sleep, and weight are not separate systems. How you feel mentally affects how your body functions — and vice versa.
When psychiatric and metabolic care are managed together, nothing falls through the cracks. No referrals. No missed interactions. No gaps.
Each service is available independently. Integration is available when it is right for you — never required, always possible.
Whether you are here for psychiatric care, GLP-1 metabolic health, or both — you are in the right place. Each service stands on its own.
Medication management + psychotherapy for the full spectrum of psychiatric conditions
Evidence-based psychiatric evaluation and medication management delivered with clinical depth and genuine care for your whole health picture.
Brand-name GLP-1 therapy with psychiatric expertise built in
A membership-based GLP-1 program using FDA-approved brand-name medications — managed by a clinician who understands the psychiatric and behavioral dimensions of metabolic health.
If you are a current psychiatric patient transitioning with me to Dixon Mind & Body Health — your care will not be disrupted. Same provider, same relationship, same clinical approach.
What changes: a new practice name, and a more streamlined, efficient experience through updated systems. What does not change: your medications, your treatment plan, your appointments, and the care you have come to expect.
You are not required to participate in the GLP-1 program. Your psychiatric care continues exactly as it has — now under a practice built specifically around integrated, whole-person care.
Psychiatric services are billed through your insurance. We are proud to make high-quality, integrated mental health care accessible through the plans listed below.
Labs associated with GLP-1 care are billed through your insurance whenever possible. Out-of-pocket costs apply only in cases where a patient is uninsured or specific extenuating circumstances exist.
Prior authorization requests and appeals for GLP-1 medications are included in your GLP-1 membership. We handle the paperwork so you are not navigating the insurance process alone.
We help every GLP-1 patient navigate manufacturer copay card programs to reduce out-of-pocket medication cost. Your actual cost will depend on your insurance and individual circumstances.

Most providers treat one or the other. I treat both — because the connection between psychiatric health and metabolic health is not incidental. It is foundational.
Many psychiatric medications affect weight, appetite, and metabolic function. Having one provider manage both means these effects are monitored, anticipated, and addressed — not discovered later.
Untreated depression, anxiety, and ADHD are leading drivers of GLP-1 dropout. Patients who receive integrated psychiatric care alongside GLP-1 therapy have dramatically better outcomes.
GLP-1 receptor agonists have neurological effects — on appetite regulation, mood, anxiety, and motivation. A psychiatric nurse practitioner is uniquely positioned to monitor and respond to these effects.
When both domains are managed by one provider who carries your full story into every visit, nothing falls through the cracks. That is the Dixon Mind & Body Health difference.
Brand-name GLP-1 therapy managed by a clinician who sees the psychiatric and behavioral dimensions of your metabolic health — not just the number on the scale.
Medications like Wegovy, Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Zepbound are powerful tools. They work best when managed within the full context of your mental health, eating behaviors, and life. That is the care you get here.
Join the GLP-1 ProgramFDA-approved Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound, and Mounjaro — not compounded alternatives. Quality, consistency, and safety you can count on.
Prior authorization requests and manufacturer copay card enrollment are included. We advocate for your medication access so you are not navigating insurance alone.
Mood, anxiety, ADHD, and eating behaviors are screened at every visit — because these factors directly affect how well GLP-1 therapy works for you.
Required monitoring labs are billed through your insurance whenever possible. We communicate any anticipated out-of-pocket costs before ordering.
All clinical services included — visits, monitoring, lab ordering, prior auth support, and copay card assistance. Medication is purchased separately at a pharmacy of your choice. Clinical visits are cash-pay.

I am one of a small number of providers in Massachusetts holding dual board certification as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC). This means your psychiatric and metabolic health are managed together — by one clinician, in one relationship, with one complete picture of your health.
My path to this practice started with a B.S. in Psychology from UMass Amherst — a foundation that shaped how I think about behavior, motivation, and the mind-body relationship long before my clinical training began.
I went on to complete my ANP training at the MGH Institute of Health Professions and my PMHNP training at Vanderbilt University, earning dual board certification in both adult primary care and lifespan psychiatric mental health.
I built Dixon Mind & Body Health because I kept seeing the same thing: patients whose weight struggles were deeply connected to untreated depression, ADHD, or anxiety — and no one treating both together. The result is a practice where your medication plan, therapeutic work when appropriate, and metabolic care are designed to support each other. Most care is delivered via telehealth, with limited in-person availability at our Andover, MA office.
